Architect Geoffrey Moussas discusses the meaning of design and architecture in Japan, where he now lives and works in Kyoto after receiving his Master’s degree in Architecture in 1993 from MIT. His introduction to the country came when he travelled there as a student with support from the MISTI—the MIT International Science and Technologies Initiative, which creates applied international learning opportunities for MIT students that increase their ability to understand and address real-world problems.
